Vegan Kimchi

It was hard to decide what to blog about first. But after an afternoon of kimchi making, the answer was clear.

It's very hard to find vegan kimchi, if not impossible. Kimchi usually contains seafood, which is why we started to make our own. Crispy, crunchy, spicy, delectable kimchi. I could (and often do) live on the stuff. My kids like to eat it as an after-school snack.

Rather than posting the recipe now, we decided to film our kimchi making adventure. Stay tuned, as the video will be posted soon on the website. Look for it on the "cooking show" page (recipe included). Then you too can make up a big batch of vegan kimchi!

Hey Julie, so you're a blogger now :)
We met at the PPK potluck in January, I was the redhead sitting next to you with holes in my socks.

Hi Celine, you should give the kimchi a try. It's soooo good!

Hey Erica, yes, I'm finally a blogger. It took me a while, but I finally did it. I have to say though, I don't remember that you had holes in your socks ; )

I have never had this dish, but wow! sounds delish. I watched the video on the "cooking show" and it is so easy. No cooking involved really. Thanks Julie. I want to try this.

Hi Julie! How exciting to click your profile and find a blog! Your kimchi looks fabulous -- I've never eaten it, so I'm really looking forward to the video. :o)

Hi Carrie! The kimchi is really easy to make. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Vicki! It took me a while to finally commit to a blog, but I finally did it. Let me know how you like kimchi when you try it. If you prefer your food less spicy, you can adjust the amount of red pepper in it.

This looks like a great recipe. I've been finding great use of Black Vinegar, a vegan product that I've found in my local Asian markets. It allows me to make Kimchi, Vietnamese Sour Soup and other recipes that call for fish sauce or similar items.

Beautiful blog and website.

Thanks Karen Food! I hadn't thought of using black vinegar in place of fish sauce. Sounds good.

Hey,

I just posted my ultimate kimchi recipe and cannot wait to try it again. Yours loook fantastic. Will try. Mine has fish sauce, but that can be omitted, I guess.

Go look for King's Kimchi in your local grocery store. It's delicious and does not contain any fish ingredients and is all natural.
